A friend who has recently been bitten by the photography bug was asking me about which lens to buy with his new Canon SLR. I recommended he get a 50mm f1.4 lens, a small (relatively) cheap lens, which creates some wonderful images for its size and price.
This was the first fixed (non-zoom) lens I bought and though I don't use it (much) these days, I still love the look of the photos it creates.
So I put it on my camera when I headed to the beach at the weekend to blow away some cobwebs...
Today is World Book Day, where people everywhere celebrate their favourite books.
I sent the tiger from The Tiger Who Came to Tea off to school this morning and have spent the morning reading with my daughter.
I also spent the morning thinking about all the book-themed weddings we've covered over the years. We've been lucky enough to photograph the wedding of several writers and children of writers, as well as having photographed weddings in venues with magnificent libraries.
